My Dream Chemical Engineering Project...!

I had a dream of doing all the works within a Reactor, the operations such as Raw Material Processing, Reactions, Distillation............

Its the dream of a Chemical Engineer

DEFINITION OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING

There are many definitions are defined by eminent personalities,
here I was collected only little...

A Popular definition of Chemical Engineering is:
" Carrying out the Reactions on large scale based on the information given by Chemists "

AIChE Defintion of Chemical Engineering:
" Chemical Engineering is the application of the principles of the Physical Sciences together with the principles of Economics & Human relations to fields, that pertain directly to processes and process equipment in which matter is treated to effect a change in state, energy content & composition.

Definition found in a standard dictionary:
“A branch of engineering which involves the design and operation of large scale chemical plants,  petrochemical refineries, and the like.”

Another definition:
“Concerned with processes that cause substances to undergo required changes in their chemical or physical composition, structure, energy content or physical state.”

Chemical engineering is the branch of engineering that deals with the application of physical science (e.g. chemistry and physics), and life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology and biochemistry) with mathematics, to the process of converting raw materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable forms. In addition to producing useful materials, modern chemical engineering is also concerned with pioneering valuable new materials and techniques - such as nanotechnology, fuel cells and biomedical engineering. A person employed in this field is called a chemical engineer.

Chemical engineers use math, physics, and economics to solve practical problems. The difference between chemical engineers and other types of engineers is that they apply a knowledge of chemistry in addition to other engineering disciplines. Chemical engineers may be called 'universal engineers' because their scientific and technical mastery is so extensive.

Post me some more Definitions if you know,
Waiting for your comments....

CHEMICAL ENGINEERING PARADIGMS....!

Pre-Paradigm Period (before 1915)

Industrial Chemist + Mechanical Engineer = Chemical Engineer

The Second Paradigm in Chemical Engineering,1960

At this point, the unit operations (UO), the principles of Transport Phenomena (TP) and Chemical Reaction Engineering (CRE), taken together, had become the unique knowledge base of chemical engineering

Third Paradigm of Chemical Engineering,RUNNING

In Third Paradigm of Chemical Engineering the focus of Chemical Engineer could be the "Complexity of the System" that depends on "structure and Scale"

The Structure and Scale influence the final product from Atomic size to Plant Size

This is not the end.
It is not even the beginning of the end.
But it is the end of the beginning.

WHAT IS ENGINEERING?

Engineering is the art of directing the great sources of power in nature for the use and convenience of man
                                                                       - Thomas Tredgold, 1828

" Engineers find and implement solutions for the needs of society that are economically viable, environmentally sustainable and morally sound "
